About

I’ve been knocking around academia in various capacities for almost twenty years. I have a Ph.D. in English and I’ve taught and  tutored at the university level since the beginning of my career. I have also worked in university administration and supported career services for students. I’m a published author and editor, and my work has appeared in both academic journals and textbooks.

Concurrent with my academic career, I have taught  English conversation,academic and business writing, presentation and accent reduction to second language speakers seeking to advance their careers in academia and business. I specialize in helping both native and non-native speakers present themselves to their best advantage in English. I can also help you navigate the terrain of academic publishing, college and graduate school applications, and the long trek to your dissertation defense or tenure.

While the humanities are home for me, I have edited  journal articles, reports and dissertations from a wide variety of fields including engineering and social and library sciences.
